Bio

"Esimon Imar" is a Hellenic ethnic band from Athens, Greece that was formed in 2004. The band consists of Despina Katsuli (Vocals & Lyrics) and George Gogas (Keyboards, Drums, Percussion, Audio Engineering).

Our band's name "Esimon Imar" (pronounced ais-emon emar) means destined day in the ancient Hellenic language.
Destiny or karma as a concept, is well known, but when the question about its validity arises, opinions diverge. Some people believe that our entire life is determined by destiny. Others, sharing the opposite point of view, believe that we determine the course of our life with our decisions. However, there may be a third point of view, according to which both concepts could apply simultaneously to certain extent.

The definitive answer may never be found. But if destiny is supposed to determine life, then it clearly happened to us when we first met and became friends and associates creating our band. We shared the same ideas, thoughts and emotions, and tried to transfer them in to our songs as well as we could. We hope that we have succeeded doing so and that our songs convey to others the same feelings and emotions that we had when we wrote them. Our first CD single was released in September 2006 by "Soulincident".
